Hopeless Wanderers
Wir setzen unseren Fuß auf einen neuen Planeten. Wie einst unsere Vorfahren entdecken wir neue Welten, tun das, was einst als unmöglich galt. Vor tausenden Jahren haben sich unsere Großväter unabhängig gemacht. Sie hörten auf, von Ort zu Ort zu ziehen, und wurden sesshaft. Sie begannen, ihr neu gewonnenes Land auszubeuten. Raubwirtschaft. Natürliches Verhalten. Alle Tiere beuten ihre Umwelt aus, der Mensch war keine Ausnahme. Doch wir haben nicht auf die Warnungen unserer Erde gehört. Aus dem Traum, den Planeten zu verlassen und neue Welten zu entdecken, wurde Realität. Eine Realität der Flucht. Ein Schritt vorwärts und zehn zurück. Aus Nomaden wurden Bauern, aus Dörfern Städte, aus Zivilisationen Ausbeuter und aus Heimatlosen Nomaden.
Wir tauschten Pferde gegen Raketen und Steppen gegen das All. Keine Familienbünde mehr, Nachwuchs war streng geplant. Nicht genug Menschen, genetische Diversität. Jede Generation erwartet ein neues Schicksal. Sie sehen, was ihren Eltern verborgen blieb. Sie wuchsen auf mit der Erbarmungslosigkeit einer vereisten Kugel im Weltall. Sie mussten lernen, wie man Treibstoff aus Eis gewann. Ihre Kinder würden niemals Schnee sehen, das einzige Weiß, die Wände der Rakete. Jede Generation hatte ihre Aufgabe. Die Reise war akribisch durchgeplant, jeder Stopp Jahrzehnte im Voraus bestimmt. Das Ziel war längst im Bordcomputer gespeichert. Jeder Start der Brennkammer berechnet. Im Tresor des Kapitäns lagen detaillierte Anweisungen. Zeitpläne, die es einzuhalten hielt.
Sie handelten nach freiem Willen, neue Welten entdecken. Abenteuer erleben. Das hatten sie als Kinder jeden Tag zu hören bekommen. Aber ein neues Land, ein neuer Planet ändert nicht die Menschen, die auf ihm leben. Er passt sich ihnen an, versucht zu retten und zu reparieren, aber er wird nie schnell genug sein. Auch Nomaden hinterließen Narben. Nomaden, die noch immer handelten wie Städter. Sie arbeiten für ein vorbestimmtes Ziel. Ein Ort, an dem sie wieder leben können wie früher. Nicht sie, aber ihre Kinder. Sie legten das Fundament, ohne zu merken, dass hinter ihnen ein Pfad der Zerstörung lag. Eine neue Heimat nutzt einem nur, wenn man die alte zerstört hat. Wir ändern uns nicht, lernen nicht. Begonnene Fehler werden wiederholt anstatt ignoriert. Nicht sofort, aber ein, zwei Generationen später. Ihre neue Welt würde in Flammen aufgehen, genau wie die davor. Sie würden sie von allem berauben, nur um zu realisieren, dass es die letzte war. Endgültig. Der Bordcomputer hatte keine weitere Route. Es würde ihre letzte Heimat sein, dieses Mal gab es keinen Ausweg mehr, keine Verlängerung. Dieses Mal müssen sie es schaffen.
Aber Menschen ändern sich nicht.
